There’s something genuinely magnetic about the raw beauty of autumn, and that pull sparked a desire to create a photoshoot wrapped completely in the heart of the woods.
A short drive from where a real wedding was celebrated in upper Austria, there’s a magical forest spot—one I got to know on quiet runs during moments of borrowed free time. The vision was always wildly organic and untamed, so inspiration was gathered slowly over many months.
Once the idea took shape, I shared it with a creative partner, and together we shaped a plan for an autumnal session that felt alive. The final set design overflowed with thoughtful little touches that came across as romantic and undone at the same time.
The color palette took its cue straight from the falling leaves, with dried floral arrangements woven through rich terracotta tones. Glowing candlelight danced beside intricate handmade macramé, casting a uniquely enchanted energy beneath the canopy of trees.
A modern lounge area offered a soft place to linger, paired with a sleek table arrangement, while a dessert table sat heavy with endless confections and a towering doughnut wall quietly stole a few glances.
Right as the shutter started clicking, the sky opened up with a sudden shower. Thankfully, the rain passed almost as fast as it arrived.
The only trace left behind was a beautifully imperfect raindrop effect splashed across the paper goods.
Later, the most charming four-legged guests wandered into frame—a pair of alpacas named Heinzi and Nila. The trickiest part of the whole afternoon was convincing them not to snack on the bridal bouquet.
The whole experience felt deeply fulfilling, and the setting proved itself an idyllic sanctuary for vows. Soon after, it sparked a commitment to transform the exact location into a place where future couples could legally marry.
