It’s time to dust off those slow cookers! When the leaves start changing, I crave those comforting flavors that fill the house all day.
I’ve rounded up 28 fantastic fall Crockpot recipes, from soups and stews to decadent desserts!
1. Crockpot White Chicken Chili
I appreciate switching up my usual bowl of beefy, tomato-filled chili. When I want a change, this tasty chicken chili is just the thing!
The flavor is amazing and it’s just as warm and filling. You can easily make it spicy by adding lots of jalapeños!
2. Crockpot Sweet Potato Casserole
Typically, to make a sweet potato casserole, you need to pre-bake and mash the potatoes before adding them to a baking dish.
But the Crockpot will save you an extra step, and you won’t have an extra pot to clean! In the slow cooker, you can cook and mash your potatoes before topping them off to finish without taking the pot out.
3. Slow Cooker Pumpkin Chili
To add to the bulk, flavor, and texture, I usually add pumpkin or squash to my chili anyway. Instead, this recipe uses pumpkin puree to make it creamy, sweet, and thick!
Feel free to add some chunks, too!
4. Slow Cooker Chai Tea Latte
Having spent time abroad, I’ve come to love tea as much as I love coffee. Nothing is better than the smell of a pot of chai!
To make an irresistible spiced latte, you’ll need chai tea bags, cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves, anise, honey, and milk. For your next book club, I recommend making a big pot to warm the house!
5. Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup
Can chicken noodle soup fix anything?
When I was a kid, I thought it was magic! At home, it’s simple to prepare. Just throw everything into the pot, then forget it.
Because I prefer shredded chicken to large chunks, I like to keep the chicken breasts whole for cooking, then shred them when done.
6. Slow Cooker Baked Apples
What a fantastic, healthy, and natural dessert!
So I can fill them with a lot of spiced oats and sugar, I like to dig a deep hole in my apples. Also, you’ll get a beautiful crust on top when you cut the top flat.
7. Easy Slow Cooker Apple Crisp with Oatmeal
The heavenly combo of baked, spiced apples plus a crunchy, crispy oatmeal top defines apple crisp. You’ll crave this apple recipe because the apples are tender, stewed, and bursting with flavor.
To get that crispy texture on top, place paper towels over the top to absorb moisture and broil for a few before serving.
8. Crock Pot Pumpkin Cake Recipe
Did you know that the Crockpot can make this crazy-delicious pumpkin cake with only three components? It’s true!
You’ll need a cake mix (ideally spiced, but any vanilla box will work). The flavor and moisture will come from evaporated milk and pumpkin puree.
It’s not the world’s prettiest, and you can’t stack it to decorate, but it is crazy moist and perfect with ice cream.
9. The Best Crockpot Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Aside from being easy and hands-off, this recipe is also great to make ahead. If you plan a large gathering, quickly whip this a day or two beforehand.
Fresh cranberries work best for this since they hold their shape better to give you texture. If using frozen, you may have to cook longer to account for added moisture.
10. Crockpot Sweet Potatoes
Do your sweet potatoes always come out of the oven hard on the inside or too hard on the outside?
This foolproof slow cooker method makes potatoes that are tender and fluffy. Before putting them in the pot, be sure to give them a good scrub.
11. Slow Cooker Broccoli Cheddar Soup
Carrots, onions, broccoli, and chicken stock make this soup’s delicious base — it’s super healthy! Then again, maybe it isn’t that healthy since you’ll add a creamy, cheese-filled roux.
Still, it’s an excellent way to get the kids to eat their veggies!
12. Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Soup
There’s a lovely sweetness beneath the veggies in this soup! You’ll need many yummy warm spices and even a bit of almond butter for a delightful nutty undertone to bring out the sweet flavor.
Of course, you can omit the nut butter if you want it allergy-free.
13. Slow Cooker Apple Cider
It’s hard to beat a good homemade apple cider. It’s easy to make your own, and it’s sweet, spiced, and tart!
Because I want to adjust the sugar to my liking, I like to start with unsweetened apple juice.
I also like the flavor of orange with my spices. I typically set out two smaller Crockpots. I make one for the kids with some extra sugar and one for the adults with a bit of whiskey for warmth.
14. Slow Cooker Beef Gravy
We know that you need to let beef rest after it comes from the oven, right? While the joint rests, did you know you could make a quick gravy in the Crockpot using the juices from the beef?
Simply set it going when the meat comes out, and it will be thick and ready to serve when the meat is!
15. Crock Pot Corn Bread
If you’ve tried cornbread and not liked it, I guess it was overcooked and dry. With the right method, the texture is fantastic, but it can be grainy if you overdo it.
Cooking it in the Crockpot will help retain moisture, ensuring this cornbread is bursting with tender, moist flavor.
16. Slow Cooker Butternut Squash Soup
What’s the difference between butternut squash and pumpkin? Not much!
In flavor, color, and texture, they’re alike. Oftentimes I’ve substituted one for the other, and nobody knew.
For added sweetness, this vegan-friendly soup uses coconut milk, plus carrots to brighten the whole thing.
17. Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings
A stew is what I always think of this southern classic as since it’s so thick. It’s comfort in a bowl no matter what you call it.
Shorten your prep time by using pre-made biscuits and mix them so they can soak up the incredible chicken flavor.
18. No-Boil Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes
As it works with sweet potatoes, you know it’ll work for regular mashed potatoes! This recipe uses chicken broth to flavor the potatoes and keep them from sticking while they cook.
The mix of cream cheese, butter, sour cream, and parsley is divine. But if you prefer, you can keep it lean with just a splash of cream. Also, you can use almond milk or dairy-free butter to make it vegan.
19. Slow Cooker Apple Pie Steel-Cut Oatmeal
Like the pumpkin recipe, this oatmeal is like enjoying a slice of warm pie. Vegan, this recipe uses almond milk, but you can use whatever milk you have on hand. Regular milk will leave you with a creamier texture.
For more or less texture, chop the apples large or small. The smaller they are, the more they infuse into the mix.
20. Slow Cooker Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
Scalloped potatoes can sometimes burn on top before they cook through. Put them in the Crockpot to fix that!
The even heat allows the potatoes to cook without burning the top in a hot oven. If you want golden, bubbling cheese on top, just broil before serving, or use a chef’s torch.
21. Creamy Crockpot Pumpkin Soup
I must admit I fill my freezer with pumpkin puree every fall. But before I freeze it, I have to make a big batch of spicy pumpkin soup!
It’s silky smooth and creamy. With grilled cheese, it’s the perfect fall lunch!
22. Creamy Crockpot Macaroni and Cheese
For years, I’ve made pasta in the Crockpot. The key is extra liquid to help the pasta cook in the sauce. This saves you from an extra pot and step!
This recipe is the same. You’ll add uncooked pasta right into the pot with the milk, cheese, and spices.
Be sure to grate a good quality cheese yourself. Pre-shredded kinds often lack flavor and don’t melt as well.
23. Slow Cooker Root Vegetables with Apple Cider Glaze
I’m a huge fan of roasted veggies, but I realize getting children to eat them (and even some adults) is a chore! Using a quick glaze can enhance the flavors.
I’m sure there won’t be anything left!
24. Slow Cooker Root Vegetables with Apple Cider Glaze
I’m a big fan of roasted veggies, but I know that it can be hard to get kids (or some adults!) to eat them.
With a glaze, you can enhance the flavors of the veggies so well, and I’m sure there won’t be a scrap left!
25. Slow Cooker Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal
Do you wish you could eat pumpkin pie for breakfast? Now you can! The pumpkin puree, cinnamon, vanilla, and spice mix make this bowl a yum-fest.
When you have the time, you can easily whip up a big batch. Keep it in the fridge for a week of filling and delicious breakfasts.
26. Homemade Minestrone Soup
Soups and stews taste better the longer they cook. The taste becomes more pronounced as the ingredients mature! That’s especially true with this minestrone.
As it cooks, the vegetables will become tender, and the pasta will absorb everything. Each bite will be better than the last.
27. Crockpot Apple Brown Betty Dessert
Apple crisp and apple brown Betty are usually similar. Both have spiced, baked apples at the bottom and a flour and sugar top.Usually, apple brown Betty is more cake-like and has no oats.
The twist with this recipe is the use of leftover bread cubes for the topping. What a great way to make a hearty dessert and use leftover bread!
To make it more indulgent, soak bread cubes in egg and milk custard first. For a creamy, bread-pudding finish, let it all soak in then pour over the apples.
